Bliss… True Bliss
In 1999, National Geographic created the first “must see” list: “50 Places of a Lifetime”. It contained:
Urban Spaces: Barcelona, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Jerusalem, London, New York City, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, San Francisco, and Venice
Wild Places: Amazon Rainforest, Antarctica, Australia Outback, Canadian Rockies, Galapagos Islands, Grand Canyon, Papua New Guineas’ reefs, Sahara, Serengeti and Venezuela’s Tepui’s
Paradise Found: Amalfi Coast, Boundary Waters, British Virgin Islands, Greek Islands, Hawaiian Islands, Japanese Ryokan, Kerala (India), Pacific Islands, Seychelles, and Torres del Paine
Country Unbound: The Alps, Big Sur, Canadian Maritimes, Danang to Hue (Vietnam), Lake District (England), Loire Valley, North Island (New Zealand), Norway’s Coast, Tuscany and Vermont
World Wonders: Acropolis, Angkor Wat, The Great Wall, Machu Picchu, Mesa Verde, Petra, The Pyramids, Taj Mahal and Vatican City
Over the years, I have frequently included the above places in my itinerary. I’ve never been disappointed.
(Pacific Islands) Bora Bora. No description needed. Just look at the wonder.
I am so grateful to have traveled to some of the most extraordinary places on Earth. I’ve visited twenty of the Places of a Lifetime. However, I cannot afford to travel so far now. I’ve had $1.3 million of cancer treatment.
Can America please talk about Universal Health Care yet?
