A Long Weekend in Breckenridge

This road trip from my home in Santa Fe to Breckenridge, Colorado, had a purpose more than simply being a long weekend. But first, here are some photos of the trip:

I attended a travel bloggers conference. Three days of intense lectures and ideas. I made some handy contacts, too.

It was the beginning of Southwest Compass, a travel blog focused, well on the Southwest (of the US). I bought the domain name, designed a website, created some logos, and signed up for Twitter and Facebook (the only social media platforms at that time).

GoPro had just been introduced, so I also bought the first series, and I added some lenses for my Nikon D700.

The GoPro made clear images, but it wasn’t what I desired in a camera. Several years later, I sold it.

This was my favorite photo:

Sandia Peak (New Mexico)

Fully equipped, I was off to capture every part of the Southwest…

Where am I now? You can find me on Blue Sky.
