Long Weekend in Sedona

I needed a mental, emotional, and physical break from the endless chemo. I did not tell my cancer team what I was doing, which was taking a long weekend in Sedona, Arizona. (I do not recommend this!)

Bambi had a heart condition that required medication twice a day, so she was tagging along.

The rest stop in Gallup had a dog park, and there were no dogs there at the moment. Perfect. She was very timid due to being abused. The resort we stayed at knew Bambi was coming. She was greeted with a treat bag.

We stopped at some art galleries and shops which offered crystals, sage, and jewelry for protection.

Starting in Sedona is the Red Rocks Scenic Byway (Route 179), which runs 7 ½ miles through sandstone cliffs, scenic vistas, and a canyon.

The main reason we visited Sedona was for the “healing waters” of Oak Creek. When you’re trying to live, you will try anything.

But at the next oncologist visit, I was deemed to be in remission. May 11, 2015. I am now a firm believer in “woo woo” stuff…

Reminder: I was relearning everything, including photography. So these were taken with my iPhone.

Where am I now? You can find me on Blue Sky.
