To Go? Or Not To Go?

Once again, I had to find an airport with flights outside of the US. I was living in Santa Fe, which only offers regional flights. Denver had flights to Turkey! Perfect. I would spend a few days before the flight, as I was blogging about the Southwest.

My first stop was in Colorado Springs for the Ghost Town Museum. I love me some ghost towns! Then, of course, the Coors plant. Cheers!

In Denver, there were pleasant parks, public art, and murals. I was stepping back for a better shot of the “Light Chamber” when I discovered there were steps all around the sculpture. I went backwards, falling down the steps.

The deadly “Light Chamber”

My mouth was bleeding, so I was rushed to an Urgent Care. There was nothing they could do other than stop the bleeding. A tooth had torn through my bottom lip. No stitches would fix that. They also gave me some painkillers.

I was supposed to fly out the next day to Istanbul. It was a twelve-hour flight. Cancel? Or suck it up?

Note: This was long before the troubles in the Middle East. Also, always buy travel insurance.

Where am I now? You can find me on Blue Sky.
